This is probably the easiest idea. All you need is a few leather cords. It almost doesn't matter which one, because it differs per style. So it really depends on what you have in mind. Measure your hip size (a little bigger) and braid your leather cords until you reach your desired size. Then add a buckle and that's it! You don't even need to make holes in the leather, as the buckle can simply be tied between the braided cords.
