How do you make a wire-wrapped crystal pendant without drilling holes?

Sun Enterprises:

There are several ways to use this technique when jewelry making supplies, but in this DIY project we will take you step by step on how to simply wrap a
crystal charm wrapped with wire.

Step 1: Choose your supplies:

- Crystal of your choice
- Gauge 20 wire
- Pliers and tools (flat pliers, round pliers, pointed pliers and scissors suitable
for cutting the wire)
- Measuring stick
- 2 rings

Step 2:

For beginners, a lighter wire is a good option, so that's why we recommend the the Gauge 20 wire. You cut this into two sections of the same length. This length depends on the size of your crystal, it is important that you can wrap the wire around the crystal several times. Not sure? Then cut off more than you need anyway so you don't have too little at least don't have too little.

Step 3:

Take the end of a wire and start making a loop by wrapping the wire around the round bar. Keep the loop intact and then roll the open end of the wire under the loop two times, around the wire tie. Make sure the wire is is tight against the centre of the crystal.

Step 4:

Bend the wire about 90 degrees halfway down the length of the crystal. After this, the bent part of the wire should be wrapped all the way around the crystal and be returned to the loop. Now wrap the wire vertically around the crystal. Keep continue wrapping from below the 90-degree bent part and keep it adjacent, but with not too much distance.

Step 5:

Try to keep the wires even and adjacent without too much space between the windings. Wrap the wire closer to the loop, i.e. towards the top. Roll the wire about two to three times tightly around the loop and then cut off the remaining wire. For a neater look, you can hide the end under the wrapped wire. Use the round-nosed pliers to do this.

Step 6:

Add the two rings to the loop on top and then your beautiful crystal pendant is finished!

You can hang it on a chain or wire of your choice. That mainly depends on how you choose to match this stone to your style.
